A Ely Rotary Club member has forged international connections while on holiday.
Rosemary Westwell, from the Rotary Club of Ely, attended a meeting of the Rotary Club in Torrevieja, Spain, on Monday, September 9.
Despite not being fluent in Spanish, Ms Westwell said she was made to feel very welcome.
She was impressed by a talk given by an exchange student from Colorado, USA.
The student, named Laura, spoke fluently in Spanish and expressed her appreciation for the cultural experience.
Both the Torrevieja and Ely clubs continue their philanthropic efforts locally and abroad.
The Ely club is planning to continue its support for eradicating polio, the Ely Babybank, and is making arrangements for next year's Aquafest.
The Rotary Club of Ely always welcomes new members.
The Rotary Club of Ely has been active in the community for many years and regularly engages in charitable activities.
It also provides opportunities for networking and personal development.
