Last weekend, my friend and I took a trip to the St Ives Farmer's Market to visit the George's Bakery stall.

The baker behind the cakes, George Hepher, has had a stall at St Ives Farmer's Market for several years now, and we'd heard amazing things about his treats.

We'd been warned about the queues, as George has a reputation for causing cake-induced chaos at the market, but we got there bright and early and only had to queue for around 15 minutes, which I've heard is quite good.

We had cake on the brain, and were undeterred by the rain that ended up getting us a bit soaked.

Eventually we got to the front of the queue, and I was served by none-other than George himself, who was as friendly, helpful and kind as I thought he would be.

He could tell that I was instantly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of cakes, brownies, cookies (and calories) that stood before me, and he was on hand to help me pick out things that my family and I would like.

The TikTok star sells, what I think could be, a Guinness World Record for the most amount of sweet treats ever - I was stood picking for around 10 minutes (my apologies to the people behind me in the queue).

Anyway, I eventually left with two bags full of goodies - not all for me, I promise - and made my way home to share them out.

I was overwhelmed by how big the products were, some of them were as big as my head.

A firm favourite in my household was the lemon and blueberry layered cake, which had a lemony buttercream and curd, and was packed with sweet and juicy blueberries.

It went down a treat as the fruity flavours balanced out the sweetness of the buttercream.

I indulged in what can only be described as a Reese's Tower, which was layered with a peanut brownie, caramel, marshmallow, chocolate, and a Reese's cup on top.

It was sickly, but so, so good - a peanut butter lover's dream is how I would sum it up.

I couldn't eat this all in one go, so instead, I took it a bite at a time. With many of George's bakes, you'll need to refrigerate/store them for a few days while you make your way through them.

The attention to detail that George puts into his goodies is nothing short of amazing. In fact, some of them are so cleverly crafted that you won't even want to eat them.

Prices range depending on what you purchase, as some items are much bigger than others and require many more ingredients to make.

All in all, I think George's Bakery is well worth the queue and I will definitely be going back for more treats soon (once I've burnt off the ones I've just bought).
