The Met Office has issued a weather warning with strong winds on the way.

Cambridgeshire has been issued a yellow weather warning by forecasters until 10pm tonight.

The warning covers most of England - including all of the East of England - plus Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Met Office has said strong winds are likely to cause disruption throughout the day, with the possibility of short term losses.

Some bus and train services are also likely to be affected, with some journeys taking longer.

In Cambridgeshire, wind gust speeds are forecast to range between 31 and 43 mph between 9am and 5pm.

The warning follows what is expected to be a wet day for the county, according to the Met Office.

A band of heavy and blustery showers are forecast to spread southeast through the morning.

While showers will clear to bright spells and scattered showers, these will turn heavy with the possibility of thunder.

To give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays, the Met Office advises drivers to check road conditions and commuters to check bus and train timetables.

The Met Office also recommends staying up to date with the latest weather forecast in your area.
