Ely Arts Festival 2024 is set to be the "biggest yet", with more than 30 events popping up across the city for all the community to enjoy.

Artistic director, Chris Parsons, said: "We look forward to seeing you in June.

"The festival brings high quality performers and events from across the UK whilst celebrating the brilliant local talent Ely and the surrounding area has to offer.

"I'm passionate that the arts should be accessible to all and there are lots of free events as part of the programme. We've kept ticket prices as low as possible too.

"There are a lot of free events including the family fun day at Jubilee Gardens on Saturday June 15 with live music, circus acts, storytelling, art workshops and food vans.

"The festival community mural will return with a water theme this year.

"A big community concert in Ely Cathedral on Friday June 21 featuring 12 local schools with a live orchestra will perform 'Songs of the Sea' with music from Disney, sea shanties, Strauss, a medley from the Pirates of the Caribbean and more.

"Professional theatre group 440 Theatre bring a hilarious double bill of Shakespeare with 'A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night' both condensed into 40-minute performances.

"This performance takes place in the Bishop's Garden on Friday June 28.

"Three Blind Mice Brewery will host an arts-themed quiz (June 17) alongside a ceramics workshop (June 18) and Linocut workshop (June 25) in Drayman's Son on Fore Hill.

"There will also be six lunchtime concerts at Sessions House across the festival. These will feature ensembles from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Guildhall, Royal Welsh College of Music and King's Ely.

"The festival concludes with a showcase concert in St Mary's Church featuring a number of local music groups alongside poetry and local folk stories on Saturday June 29.

"The festival simply would not be possible without the generosity of all our sponsors, supporters and the amazing festival committee, thank you!

"We look forward to seeing you in June."
