The Babylon Gallery, in Ely, has had a successful opening of its new multi-sensory exhibition, Sensing Nature.

The exhibition, which opened on Friday, March 1, is a multi-sensory experience which has artwork that visitors can listen to, handle and touch, as well as smell and taste.

Some artwork has been translated into raised drawings as well.

An audio guide has also been created for the exhibition, so visitors can be guided around the displays accompanied by detailed descriptions of the art.

An official opening event was held on March 2, and composer Tom Adams, artist Kaitlin Ferguson, and many other artists attended.

Lucy Frazer, MP for South East Cambridgeshire and Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, also visited the gallery.

Babylon ARTS is working with Ely Museum, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, and the National trust's Wicken Fen Nature Reserve to develop ways that people with low vision, children, young people and the wider public can connect with nature.

The exhibition will remain open until Sunday, March 24.

The Babylon Gallery is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm-4pm, with free entry.
