Daniel Bell of KD Theatre writes his column for the Ely Standard.

It's astonishing how swiftly time flies, isn't it?

More than two months have passed since my last column, yet it feels like just yesterday we were immersed in the festive spirit of Christmas.

In my job, where planning for the future is a daily occurrence, I often find myself planning for events years down the line.

It's a constant reminder to seize the present and enjoy the ‘now!’ So what’s happening in the world of KD?

This year marks the 10th anniversary of KD Academy, a milestone we're commemorating with a grand showcase bringing together all four of our performing arts academies.

Over 200 talented young individuals, ranging from ages six to 18, will grace the stage, showcasing not only their talents but also the confidence and resilience they've cultivated through our academies.

Meanwhile, in the land of KD Theatre, preparations are underway for our 2024 UK tour of 'Treasure Island', set to dazzle audiences across 20 theatres nationwide.

And let's not forget our upcoming pantomime production of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ at The Maltings in Ely from December 13 to January 5.

A delightful twist on a classic tale set within the enchanting world of the circus, I am really excited about transforming the Maltings into a Circus Wonderland this Christmas for Pantomime.

So here's to embracing the present while eagerly anticipating the wonders yet to come.
