A craft fair in Witchford, has raised a record £750.

Held on March 9 at St Andrew's Church, the event was boosted by the sunny weather which increased footfall to the wide array of craft sellers and bakery stands.

A highlight of the event was resident Caroline Hammill’s cake stall

Tempting visitors with a selection of sweet treats, the stall raised funds for the church and the forthcoming flower festival taking place over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend.

Other sellers included crafters of jewellery, handsewn products, chocolate, wax melts and candles, customised Jellycat bunnies and hand-made ceramics.

Refreshments were available throughout the day along with an Easter themed craft activity for children.

An Easter Egg Tombola and raffle attracted a number of eager players thanks to generous donations from local businesses, craft sellers and local residents.

Support from local volunteers proved invaluable and contributed significantly to the success of the event.

Susan Maud, the organiser, said: “It was another extremely successful craft fair at St Andrew’s. Witchford has raised a record amount for the church.”
