The widow of a motorcyclist killed in a collision in Littleport has paid a loving tribute, describing him as a “devoted father” to their two young children.

Bradley Roberts, 30, was passionate about cars and motorbikes and his wife Chelsie has promised his farewell will be “absolutely fitting for a vehicle enthusiast”.

Fellow bikers, the modified car community and other car groups have promised to join Brad for his final journey on March 16.

There will also be a mini static car show with the couple's own vehicles on display at the Littleport Leisure Centre, where the wake is being held.

“Before we had our family, he was known as ‘Brad the car lad’ after excelling in his class during his karting career, which led to an astounding career in motorsport prototype engineering.

“Then when we had the twins, he became ‘Brad the Dad’ which we’re going to have spelled out as a flower tribute at his funeral.

“He loved family time. We would all play X-Box together and he would teach them how to do donuts on [the racing game] Forza. He loved teaching them about cars and correct vehicle maintenance.

“He was a traditional man, but this Christmas we all wore matching Christmas pyjamas.

“He was Papa Elf, I was Mama Elf and the kids were both Mini Elf. The kids absolutely loved it, as we played with Lego and lounged in our pjs all day.

“These are now memories we will hold in our hearts forever.”

But Brad changed schools and the couple reconnected through Facebook in November 2016 and got together soon after they reunited in person.

Chelsie said: “Brad was such an intelligent man, who was hilarious and radiated confidence.

“He could be blunt and direct at times – which is what I found attractive about him. He was very honest.

“If he knew of someone who had broken down and was stuck on the side of the road, he’d go out and help them. That was the kindness in him.

"He was loved by so many.”

The couple were engaged in July 2017 and married in September 2018. Their twins Theo and Isla were born in June 2019.

Chelsie is very open about the fact both she and Brad struggled after their children’s traumatic delivery.

She said: "After going through so much together, we had finally found peace.

“But tragically, he’s been taken from us in such horrible circumstances... and it’s truly heartbreaking.”

He was riding his purple Kawasaki motorbike when it was involved in a collision with a Nissan Qashqai at the Mile End Road junction.

The Qashqai driver, a 64-year-old woman from the Brandon area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She is currently on bail.

Chelsie, who has a purple and pink version of the same motorbike, says she has since ridden her 125cc bike to the crash scene and finished Brad’s journey in his honour.

She will be riding pillion and leading the procession to his funeral.

Chelsie said: “I have to do this for Brad, and I want our children to grow up knowing their father was a very special and respected man.”
