Simon Brodkin is among several high-profile comedians set to perform during comedy nights in Littleport.

Brodkin, most famous for his cheerful chav character Lee Nelson, will headline the launch of the Littleport Comedy Night at 7:30pm this evening along with Tony Law.

Known for his “electrifying crowd work”, Brodkin has earned international acclaim masterminding a number of world-famous stunts.

With over 600,000 followers on Instagram alone, he handed former prime minister Theresa May a P45 while she delivered her speech at the Conservative Party conference, and even surrounded former US President Donald Trump with swastika golf balls.

A sign of the growing appetite for top-tier comedy in the village, tickets for the event based at Littleport Village Hall have already sold out.

James Garner, director of Chuckle Comedy, said: “We are dedicated to bringing establishing and rising comedians to the Littleport Village Hall on a regular basis.

“You can expect to see names like Simon Brodkin, Maisie Adams and Reginald D Hunter, along with many more talented performers.

“As residents with extensive experience in organising entertainment events we are passionate about bringing Chuckl Comedy, our brand of comedic entertainment, to the heart of Littleport.”

Brodkin and Law will also be performing at Doddington Village Hall which, last month, saw the arrival of The Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas as its headliner.

Joe will be performing at the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre on Thursday, March 21.

The following night (Friday, March 22), Joe will also be taking to the stage at Doddington Village Hall in March.

Maisie Adams, who regularly appears on Live at The Apollo, The Last Leg and Soccer AM, will be performing at Littleport Village Hall on April 26.

US stand-up comedian Reginald D Hunter will also be performing on May 25.

Garner added: “Understanding the current economic climate, we are committed to offering accessible and affordable comedy experiences, allowing residents to enjoy top-notch entertainment without the high costs of travel, accommodation, and big-city ticket prices.”
