Police discovered a stolen lorry late last night in Cambridgeshire.

Motorists on the A142 at Witchford reported a lorry they believed to be broken down, parked on a bend causing concern.

Officers arrived to find the engine running and checks soon revealed it had been stolen from a nearby recycling centre earlier in the evening.

"While it’s not every day a Scania lorry is stolen, if you see vehicles like this, which wouldn’t normally be driven around late at night, it’s worth raising the alarm," said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
