Cambridgeshire Police received a report of a fox hunt taking place near Stetchworth, East Cambridgeshire, on Saturday, February 24.
A member of the public called Cambridgeshire Police and reported that hounds were chasing after two foxes on land just off of London Road.
Officers from Cambridgeshire Police's Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) attended the scene, but the dogs and the owners had left.
The force is now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesperson said: "We are asking for anyone with information about this incident, or saw what occurred, to contact us online or via 101 quoting 35/13170/24."
