An uninsured driver on a provisional licence crashed his father's car into a pylon in East Cambridgeshire.
Police were called to the incident on the A1123 at Dimmock’s Cote Road between Stretham and Wicken.
When they arrived, the driver had left the scene.
However, officers tracked down the registered keeper and paid him a visit to ensure nobody was injured or missing.
To the officer’s surprise, the owner was fast asleep, as it was his son who had taken the car and driven it without insurance and on a provisional licence.
He has been reported for the offences.
