The Ely and district branch of Cats Protection is appealing for donations of unwanted items to be given as prizes at their next bingo night.

"Have you been given any unwanted items (any food or drink must be in date) that you do not want to keep but do not want to just put in landfill?" said the group.

"We would be very pleased to accept these items to put into our annual bingo, which raises funds for the cats in our care.

"Any items can be left in our donation boxes at Sainsbury's, Interiors Pine shop near Hereward, Isle of Ely vets on A10.

"Or get in touch and we are able to collect."

The bingo night is on Friday February 2 at Little Downham Village Hall. Doors open at 6.50pm for eyes down at 7.30pm.

A book of six tickets costs £6. There will also be two raffles - one for humans and one for cats, which costs £1.50.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits will be available on the night.
