An East Cambridgeshire dance troupe won a world championship after competing in their first ever street dance competition.
4D Academy, the advanced dance troupe from 4D Dance, took part in the GDO World Championships hosted by British Dance Organisation.
The contest saw over 3,000 dancers from all over the country, and many international groups, competing for the world title in their category.
4D Academy competed in the over 16s amateur division, after being moved up a level just a week before the competition.
Despite the last minute promotion, they took home the trophy as they were crowned world champions.
Sara Ford, creative director, founder and choreographer, said: "We took 33 people with us on a coach, including parents and dancers.
"There are 11 students in 4D Academy, ranging from 13-17-years-old.
"We also raised £1987.69 through events, raffles and donations. This meant all students could attend regardless of their families financial circumstances."
She added that the group is already looking at the next competition in the new year.
"We will potentially run auditions for the squad if there are budding dancers around who would like to join," she added.
