The winner of Lucy Frazer MP’s annual South East Cambridgeshire Christmas card competition has been announced.

Year two pupil at Cheveley Primary School, Hanga Babos, was selected as the winner for her design which depicted a Christmas bike ride.

As well as Ms Frazer, the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, recognised Hanga’s work with a photo in Parliament.

As the local MP, Ms Frazer runs the Christmas card competition every year as a fun exercise for school-aged children across her constituency.

It was open to all schools in South East Cambridgeshire, along with other youth organisations like the Scout Association.

The chosen design feature on the Christmas card is sent by Ms Frazer to hundreds of local people.

Alongside Hanga’s design, Rafe Cole from class 4HJ at King’s Ely was awarded second place for his design of a man and his dog at Christmas, while Soren, Teddy, Michal, Penelope, Charlie, Aiden, Benjamin and Elsie from Year two at St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School in Soham all contributed a similar design which involved using their hand-print to resemble a robin.

Lucy Frazer MP said: “I want to thank everyone who took part in my Christmas card competition this year.

“I run this competition to give pupils a chance to express their creative talent and get into the festive spirit!

“I wish all pupils and teachers a relaxing break after a term of hard work”.
