Local school children visited Vera James Care Home in Ely recently to sing Christmas carols with the residents.
The students from Ely St. John’s Primary School attended on November 30, treating the care home residents, staff and visitors to a musical start to the festive season.
The children sang a selection of traditional Christmas carols along with several more contemporary Christmas songs.
Residents were able to accompany the children in some carols, such as Jingle Bells, on small hand bells.
A spokesperson said: “Residents, staff and visitors joined the children in the singing and many feet were seen tapping and hands clapping.”
All of those who attended the event agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable morning and a member of staff thanked the children for coming to the care home and for giving the residents a wonderful start to the festive season.
