A drug dealer who operated across East Cambridgeshire has been ordered to hand over more than £45k.

A Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing held at Peterborough Crown Court earlier this month (November 17) ordered 31-year-old Jayden Ryan to pay back £45,353.16 within three months or face a further 21 months in prison.

Ryan was arrested in February after mobile phone evidence linked him to running the ‘Uno’ county drugs line across East Cambridgeshire.

He stored 55 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin inside his mouth and attempted to hide them from officers.

At Huntingdon Crown Court in May Ryan, from South Hackney, was sentenced to five years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession of criminal property and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Detective Sergeant Luke Pedlar, who investigated, said: “Our Intelligence and Specialist Crime team worked alongside neighbourhood officers to catch Ryan, who was dealing heroin and crack cocaine across Ely and Littleport.

“Not only has he got a significant prison sentence, he must now pay back his ill-gotten gains.

“Drugs and drug related crime has a negative impact on our communities and its use can harm the health and safety of our residents.”
