A pop-up café in St Andrew’s Church Witchford on Saturday, November 25 was a huge success.

There were people queued at the door well before opening time at 10:30am.

With a definite Christmas theme, there was Caroline Hammill’s cake stall, heaving with Christmas cakes, puddings, chocolate logs and all things edible for Christmas.

So popular was this, that it was almost sold out in the first half hour! However, there were plenty of homemade goodies to enjoy all morning on the refreshments counter with cakes, biscuits, mince pies, and gingerbread amongst other goodies.

A new addition was little hand-crafted Advent Angels made by a number of locals– some 50 of them which were hidden in the church for children and adults to find.

The seed of the idea was planted by one of the local posties in Witchford who had enjoyed cake and coffee at the last craft fair in October.

He and his colleague were some of the first to arrive as they enjoyed their morning break in the church.

The event was run by a team of volunteers who worked extremely hard to ensure everyone had a great experience and a total of £577.50 was raised for the church.
