East Cambridgeshire police cadets have been out and about conducting ‘weapons sweeps’ in Ely.
“Sometimes people hide weapons in public places such as parks or other green spaces,” said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
“Fortunately, on this occasion the cadets didn’t find any.
“The activity was part of our knife crime week of action, which also includes an amnesty, school visits, working with retailers and conducting extra patrols in ‘hotspot’ areas.”
