One good thing among the many about living in Littleport is that nothing and nobody is too far away from anywhere you want to get to, anything you want to do, or anyone you want to see!
Take the Littleport Ex-Servicemen’s Club, the kids Halloween disco on Sunday 29 from 4pm until 7pm and the Littleport Fire Station for instance.
Now in a spectacular annual happening, InterCity Disco play for the fancy dress (optional) party (tickets £2) and the children can bring along their carved pumpkins that can be taken to the fire station across the road on Ponts Hill between 3pm and 6.30pm.
The firefighters will put them all up on the training tower which will be lit up between 6.45pm and 7.20pm! Tea, coffee, cakes and sweets are on sale.
On Friday 27 the Littleport Ex-Servicemen’s Club hosts a grown-up's karaoke Halloween fancy dress (optional) party with KJ Entertainments.
Up the road at the Crown Inn, 34 Main Street, also on Friday 27 dress up for a big Casino Night in aid of Age UK, and on Saturday 28 a free Halloween Disco from 8.30pm.
Down the end of Victoria Street at 1 Sandhill, the Swan pub with boutique hotel rooms, a restaurant and a function room that doubles as a weekend night club, Smoke n Spice, hosts a Halloween party there from 8pm to 2am on Friday 27 with top night club DJs, and on Saturday 28 popular group Halo play from 9pm onwards – both nights are over 18’s only.
And at 61 Ely Road the Plough and Harrow also serves good food in its family and dog friendly pub.
Littleport Leisure hosts the Halloween parkrun this Saturday at 9am.
All the hostelries, the shops, hairdressers, barbers, takeaways, cafes (the Station café serves a good breakfast I hear) and restaurants, are all within walking distance – and incidentally, car parking is free anywhere in Littleport.
