The debut edition of a charity pool event raised more than £600 towards a defibrillator for the village of Sutton.

The local Royal British Legion group's first annual fundraiser took place on October 7.

Dawn Miller, one of the organisers, said it was "a great day.

"Jon and I would like to thank Tom Read for doing the event poster and for the singles winners trophies and of course attending on the day.

"Thank you to everyone that attended, we couldn’t have done it without you all.

"Thank you to the RBL bar staff for their hard work and thank you to Sianny Miller for coming down and helping with the event.

"Congratulations to James Parker for winning the singles with runner-up Jonathan Miller who impersonated Will Ludbroke.

"Congratulations to Richard Lightly and Scott Taylor who again impersonated Will in the mystery doubles with Daniel Giles and Simon Newman as runners up.

"We genuinely can’t thank you enough and, with its success, we look forward to the next event.

"We hope that, with all the money raised, we can now get another much-needed defibrillator in the village."
