A rugby club in Ely is offering free taster sessions for youngsters who may be interested in the sport every Sunday this September. 

Ely Tigers Rugby Club is starting the sessions this Sunday (September 10). 

A spokesperson for Ely Tigers Rugby Club said: “Every Sunday in September we are offering pitch up and play taster sessions. 

“We have an amazing youth and minis section full of enthusiastic coaches who put just as much emphasis into enjoying rugby as they do developing players.” 

They added: “With the world cup just days away, it would be great to see as many people as possible taking up the sport and we would love it if they began their journey with Ely. 

“If your child is interested, please bring them along to a session."

Session timings are as follows: 

  • 9am-10.30am for boys in school years one to seven, and girls in school years one to five.  
  • 11am-12.30pm for boys in school years eight to 11, and girls in school years six to nine.  
  • 12.30pm-2pm for boys in school years 12-13.
