Two retired police officers recently had the opportunity to sit in a police car and reminisce about their careers.
Frank and Colin are residents of The Orchards Care Home, in Ely, and a special trip down memory lane was arranged for them.
Staff asked if it would be possible for an officer to visit the home, which provides residential and specialist dementia care.
So PCSO Mags Harvey popped in on Monday (April 17) to meet Frank and Colin, and chat about what policing is like nowadays.
The care home is based in Forsythia Road and opened in 2019.
Cambridgeshire Police visit a range of settings to engage with the community, such as children’s nurseries, schools, events as well as nursing homes.
A post on the Policing East Cambridgeshire Facebook page said: “This sort of community engagement is important to win the hearts and minds of different members of the local community.
“It is not always about visiting schools and nurseries, the older ones matter too!”
