Fordham man John Pryke has published a new book that includes some fascinating history about the village.
The book, entitled Fordham Back in Time includes the origins of Fordham Abbey, Oliver Cromwell's connections to the village, a Royal visit, the Fordham poet, James Withers, invention and discovery by local businessmen and the everyday lives of village folk.
There is also information about clubs and organisations, facilities and services that were available at certain points in history and the people who made things happen.
Three 'elder statesmen' recall their childhoods and the war years spent in Fordham and there are more than 100 old photographs included in the book.
John says the book is not a commercial venture as all the profits will be donated to village projects or organisations.
If anyone wishes to purchase a copy they can call John on: 07535 147036 or leave a message on: 01638 720674. Printed in hardbook the book costs just £10.
