Dozens of residents helped a café raise £700 for a cancer charity.

Nellie’s Community Café in Sutton held a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support on September 30.

Over 90 people tucked into homemade cakes, sandwiches and donated prizes, cakes and books as well as taking part in a tombola and two raffles.

Joy Owen, a volunteer at Nellie’s, said: “It was a fantastic day.

“The weather was not great, but it was lovely to see so many people still come out to support such a worthy cause.”
