FAIRTRADE Fortnight in Ely culminated in a day of celebratory events on Saturday kicking off with a Fairtrade Coffee morning at the Methodist Hall in Chapel Street, Ely.
This was followed by a Fairtrade Walk from the Waitrose car park with the mayor, Richard Hobbs, and Town Crier, Avril Hayter-Smith.
Then the Big Swap Mad Hatter's Tea Party in the High Street was held, with free Fairtrade food and drinks supplied by local shops and supermarkets. People were urged to swap their non-Fairtrade purchases for Fairtrade ones.
The Fairtrade Forum chairman, Chris Hald, said: "This was a terrific occasion for everyone in Ely to sample something Fairtrade and hear of the opportunities created for producers through the Fairtrade Foundation".
The local Forum will be hosting more events later this year.
