LITTLEPORT schoolboy Neo Reynolds raised 700 for charity by completing his very own charity swim-a-thon.
The Littleport Community Primary pupil only mastered swimming at the start of the year but was so keen to put his new skills to good use that he decided to complete as many lengths of the Paradise Pool, in Ely, as he could manage.
In a test event held last month, Neo managed an impressive 48 lengths but he managed to complete a full mile at the real event in May, smashing his own record.
Two of Neo’s grandparents have been diagnosed with cancer in recent years and the nine-year-old donated the money to the Oncology Unit, at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge this week.
