WEST End shows was the theme of a flower festival held at St Andrew’s Church in Sutton over the weekend, raising almost 850 for church funds.
The festival was held as part of the harvest celebrations, and the church was a riot of colour, as flower arrangers created stunning displays depicting shows such as Gigi, Carousel, Singing in the Rain and Carousel.
A group of talented youngsters played recorders on Saturday afternoon to entertain visitors; and there was a steady stream of visitors on both Saturday and Sunday, to view the flowers and enjoy refreshments in the church cafe.
“We had a really lovely weekend, and I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make the festival such a success,” said organiser Linda Jackson.
A family harvest festival service was held at the church on Sunday morning, and a choral Evensong on Sunday evening.
