FIREFIGHTERS have been busy in Little Downham following two call-outs inside 12 hours.
A crew from Ely were called to a house Black Bank Road at about 6.15pm on Monday following reports that a chimney had caught fire. Firefighters used chimney gear and rodding to extinguish the fire and had returned to their station by 7.30pm.
Less than 12 hours later, at about 7am on this morning (Tuesday), crews from Ely and Littleport were called to a house in Main Street.
All occupants were out of the house on the arrival of the crews. The cause of the fire was accidental and believed to have started in a fuse box.
