A spooky Halloween event in Ely helped to raised £150 for the Liam Fairhurst Foundation.
Colleagues at Sainsbury’s, in Lisle Lane, held various activities at the front of the store last Thursday afternoon for children, to celebrate Halloween.
Customers got involved in a scary scavenger hunt around the store, as well as a lucky dip, name the spooky spider, and guess how many sweets game.
Children were also able to have their faces painted, thanks to Clare Rees from Making Faces, who kindly donated 10 per cent of her profits on the day, to the stores local charity partner.
Staff at the store spent the day in costumes, varying from a wicked witch to a giant banana.
Charity co-oradinator Luke Edwards said: “Events like this create a great atmosphere in the store, its good to see customers can get involved and help to support us in raising money for our nominated charity partner”.
The store has now helped to raise more than £2,000 for the Liam Fairhurst Foundation, a Soham based charity helping children and their families affected by cancer, disabilities and illness.
