Up and coming rugby players from the Kings School in Ely shared a match day with their rugby heroes at the home Leicester Tigers on Saturday.
A group of 100 players from the school’s under 13, 14, 15 and 16 teams joined a Tigers matchday coaching clinic and attended the game against Harlequins and even managed to follow in the stars’ footsteps by joining a half-time parade on the pitch
Thr youngsters also had a team photo taken with first-teamer Rob Hawkins.
The coaching clinics give young players the opportunity to work with Tigers coaches on team and individual skills, and to collect tips and techniques to take back to their clubs and schools.
Kings coach Steve Johnson said: “For the groups involved it was a real chance to see a world-class team at work. This is an amazing chance for the players and they’ve absolutely loved it.”
