The Cambridgeshire Regiment held its annual reunion and parade followed by a service in Ely Cathedral on Sunday.

The guests of honour were the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Hugh Duberly, the mayor of Ely, Cllr Liz Every, and Major Martin Melia, commanding officer Cambridgeshire Company, 1st Battalion, the Royal Anglian Regiment.

A lunch was held at The Malting’s, Ely, before members moved to Ely Cathedral for a parade and inspection, carried out the Lord Lieutenant.

Standards from across all county branches of the Royal British Standards were on also parade.

The Corps of Drums, Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force lead the march past as the salute was taken by the Lord Lieutenant.

After the parade, a service in the cathedral was conducted by the Rev Mark Bonne, Dean of Ely Cathedral, with the sermon being given by Bishop to the Forces, Rt Revd, Dr Stephen Venner.

The annual event for the Cambridgeshire Regt Association was larger this year to mark the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the First World War.
