Visitors to Ely took a step back in time on Sunday with a living history day.
The event was hosted at Oliver Cromwell’s House, in St Mary’s Street, and saw visitors transported back to the 17th Century, when Cromwell was Lord Protector.
Costumed guides gave guests an insight into what life was like around the time of the Civil War, with Mrs Cromwell even baking up some lavender cake to try.
A group of roundhead soldiers set up camp on St Mary’s Green, outside Cromwell’s House, and they plenty of weapons and equipment for visitors to see.
