Children brandishing fishing nets, pots and water-filled trays plundered the depths of a drain at Wicken Fen in a hunt for bugs and beasties.
The pond dipping event was one a series of fun activities at the National Trust site for families over the school holidays and proved a huge hit despite the deluge of last Tuesday’s rain.
The 30-minutes of water-based fun was followed by a mini-beast hunt.
