King’s Ely community came together once again in the cathedral for a moving service of Remembrance.
The school remembered the fallen from all the 20th century conflicts and reflected on the bravery and courage they showed. Poppies fell from the Octagon in a poignant moment of memory, as the congregation looked on in silence.
The school says November 11 is a significant and important date for them when the whole school community pauses to remember, by name, the Old Eleans known to have fallen and the sacrifice made by young men and women, some very little older than the King’s Ely students who stood in the cathedral today.
