The Princess of Wales Hospital has been forced to suspend a number of services due to a water supply interruption.
In a public safety announcement, released earlier today, the hospital said that a burst water main in the Ely era has led to the interruption.
A number of services are currently unable to treat patients until the water supply is restored. These include: outpatient appointments, musculo-skeletal services and x-ray services.
Additionally, any patients in need of the minor injury unit will be redirected to 111 or 999, although clinical staff are available if there is a medical emergency.
Meanwhile, inpatient services on Welney inpatient ward continue to operate as normal.
The news follows a burst water pipe earlier this month which left 5,000 customers in Littleport without water.
Today’s announcement adds: “We are in contact with Anglian Water to clarify timescales for the resolution of this situation.
“We anticipate the situation will be resolved later today (24 November 2015).
“Patients with planned outpatient and musculo-skeletal appointments will be contacted to make alternative arrangements in due course.”
