A pupil from Rackham Primary School has been named Young Fenland Poet Laureate for 2016.
Tashi Marley entered her emotive piece, called ‘I Am’ into the 10-17 year old category of the county-wide competition, which aimed to reward poetic creativity in Cambridgeshire.
Judges were impressed with the imagery in Tashi’s poem, as well as its rhythm.
Tashi was presented with her award on Saturday April 9 at the competition’s prize giving ceremony at March Town Hall.
Fellow Rackham pupils, Toby Rolfe and Aida Kahn-Blunden, also made it into the final of the 10-17 year old category, with their poems titled ‘Swan’ and ‘Fenland Poem.’
