A Littleport woman is hoping to raise £300 for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in memory of her mum by holding a yoga event and small fête in her garden.
Sally Talbot set up The Yoga Hut in November 2015 with the idea of sharing the benefits of meditation and yoga with as many people as possible.
“It was a godsend to me while mum was ill and continues to be a massive part of my life,” said Sally, who has been teaching yoga locally for 13 years.
She now has a retreat in her garden in Redmere in which she offers private sessions and workshops.
In order to do “something positive”, Sally is opening up The Yoga Hut for free on the afternoon of Saturday August 6 whilst holding a garden fête with prize draws, refreshments and stalls.
The event is being held in memory of her mum, Rosemary, who didn’t get to see the end result.
“We lost our mum to cancer in September 2015,” said Sally. “She spent a short time in Arthur Rank, and we were all very frightened at the prospect of her going there.
“However, the reality is the place is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble, and the patients, as well as their families, are well cared for and provided for.”
