Held on Palace Green, opposite Ely Cathedral, there were plenty of competitions and activities - as well as birds of prey demonstrations and storytelling sessions - for the hundreds of children and adults to get involved with.
As well as an apple and spoon race and apple shy, people could have a go at the plant the apple pip competition and even decorate apple cookies.
The record for the longest apple peel was also broken, with this year's winning entry stretching 355cm, while experts from East of England Apples and Orchard Project were on hand to identify apples.
Aileen Sharp, Visit Ely's event organiser, said: "It was a very successful day and thankfully the sun was shining, which brought out the crowds. It was very well attended and remained full up all throughout the day.

"It was on par with previous years, if not better. I think Apple Day is important for Ely because it brings the community together and celebrates the culture of the British apple."
There were also birds of prey demonstrations and storytelling sessions throughout the day.
