THE Annual General Meeting of the club was held in the Village Hall on March 17. The retiring chairman, Alayne Saville, conducted the official business. Other retiring committee members were the president, Hazel Palmer, Thea Kybird and Pauline Grey. Each was presented with a gift for their valued service to the club. Reports from the chairman, secretary and treasurer were read and adopted by the members. The committee was elected en-bloc and Louise Richards became the new president. The new chairman and other positions for the committee will be decided at their next meeting.
A coffee break was followed by a demonstration entitled 'flight of fancy' given by Lionel Clark from Braintree. An area demonstrator, Mr Clark has been to the club on several occasions and always gives a creative, entertaining, and informative demonstration. His title enabled him to use a variety of containers from a wrought iron tricycle to a 'witch' with fresh flowers from spring to exotics. A vote of thanks was given by Moira Neville. The next meeting will be on April 21 when member's annual subscriptions will be due, but visitors are welcome to attend for a small fee.
