WITH Children In Need in mind, students from various schools in the region have united to design and sell their own Christmas cards.

The City of Ely Community College Business Studies and ICT department have combined with students in Year 5 of its partner primary schools - Ely St John's, Ely St Mary's, Millfield, Littleport College Community primary and Little Downham Feoffees.

The three-week project, which coincides with National Enterprise Week, began in the primary schools. Students worked in groups under their own company name, and firstly chose a theme for their Christmas cards. They then worked on their design briefs using desktop publishing software.

The students demonstrated a willingness to get involved and produced a variety of colourful, interesting and good quality cards. The final deadline for money to be handed in is December 15.
