A GROUP of community volunteers planted 65 trees in Little Thetford on Saturday. The tree planting event, organised by the Little Thetford Conservation Volunteers, was the second phase of work on a conservation area in the village. The group have already built a pond and planted hedging at the site and the third phase of work will be an apple orchard.
"We identified a parcel of land and decided to create a conservation area as a way of giving something back to the village. It's a place where people can go to have a picnic or watch wildlife and enjoy the natural surroundings," said the group's acting chairman Stuart Lucus.
INFO: Anyone wishing to join the group should contact Mr Lucus on 01353 648813.
