TWO men have denied stealing £1,900 worth of lead from the Countess Free Church in Ely, and stealing metal from the Environment Agency.
Carl Scarrow, 25, of Broad Piece, Soham; and Joe Allgood, 34, of Earith Bridge Caravan Site, Earith; are alleged to have stolen the items on March 27, and both appeared before Ely magistrates on Thursday.
Scarrow further denied driving a ford Transit van on March 23 without insurance or an MoT certificate, and failing to produce his driving licence to the police.
They were given unconditional bail until a pre-trial review at Ely courthouse on June 14.
