Youngsters from Ely's Lantern School hatched and cared for nine chicks as part of their lessons on life cycles. Nine eggs were delivered to the school by Hertfordshire-based Living Eggs along with an incubator and all the equipment needed to hatch them and feed the chicks. The children watched the eggs hatch and then put the chicks into a brooder box where they fed, watered and handled them before they were returned to the farm. Pupils have also written reports and drawn pictures about their young visitors.
