A PLAY charting the birth of democracy was performed at Stretham Primary School, with pupils from the school's drama club taking the lead roles.
Athens, the Birth of Democracy was a light-hearted look at the way democracy evolved in Ancient Greece. It also featured Greek politicians and even reporters from a television news channel.
The aim of the play was to help children understand the importance of democracy.
Deputy headteacher Jo Phillips said: "The children take their roles very seriously and have had a successful year developing our playground."
