TWENTY-three-year-old Sarah Cooper egged on two sisters who assaulted Littleport landlady Amanda Hunter.

She had earlier smashed glassware on the patio of the Crown pub, Ely magistrates were told.

Cooper, of New Close Road, Little Thetford, had previously denied assaulting the landlady, and this week that charge was dropped when she admitted using threatening behaviour.

Prosecuting, Emma Dmitriev said Cooper was one of three people involved in the fracas.

"The other two people assaulted the landlady and Cooper egged them on, shouting," she said.

"Ms Hunter told police that Cooper was the ringleader, and the Crown accepts that she started the incident by the argument."

Mitigating, Melanie Benn said there was history between Cooper and the landlady. Cooper had not touched alcohol since the incident, she added.

Cooper, who is already subject to a 12-month supervision order for burglary, was given a new 12-month supervision order and must pay £60 costs.

n Sisters Anita Webber, 37, of High Street, Ely, and Victoria Baker, 34, of Churchill Close, Ely, admitted assaulting the landlady at an earlier court case and were ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £100 compensation and £75 costs.
