THERE has been a shock result in Belfast East with Northern Ireland's first minister Peter Robinson, of the Democratic Unionist Party, defeated by the Alliance Party's Naomi Long.
The Alliance Party received 12,839 votes to the DUP's 11,306.
The result will change the face of politics in Northern Ireland.
The DUP did secure the Antrim North seat with 46.4 per cent of the vote and Sinn Fein has the Tyrone West seat with 48.4 per cent of the vote.
