REGARDING the ongoing saga of the proposed site for the cathedral car park, I would have thought the meadowland, a place of outstanding natural beauty, with its gentle adverse camber, would be an ideal spot. In fact why not demolish the cathedral as well
REGARDING the ongoing saga of the proposed site for the cathedral car park, I would have thought the meadowland, a place of outstanding natural beauty, with its gentle adverse camber, would be an ideal spot.
In fact why not demolish the cathedral as well? Then the car park could be even bigger.
Alternatively you could turn the entire area, not just the part proposed, into a shopping centre, full of internationally known stores.
That way you could squeeze out the local trader and make Ely a characterless commercial centre for East Anglia.
Don't stop with the bypass. If you follow the maxim 'If it's beautiful, develop on it', you can't go wrong.
