I have heard that there wil be no flowers this year as the Ely in Bloom committee want to win a gold award next year.
WHY does Ely look so drab? The flower tubs are empty; there are no hanging baskets and no flowers on the railings around the Market Square. Now I know it’s nothing to do with the cuts in money that we have no flowers, but if those responsible do not intend putting out flowers in the tubs and baskets then please take the empty eye-sore tubs away and baskets away. I have heard that there wil be no flowers this year as the Ely in Bloom committee want to win a gold award next year. Well, I couldn’t care less about winning a gold award. Let’s brighten up Ely now and let next year take care of itself. We shouldn’t be savng money this year just to spend it all next year. What if we do not win the gold? Will the committee resign? The only flower tub that has flowers in it is the one in front of Lloyd’s Bank. We used to have lovely displays in Ely. Do the present committee have any interest in making Ely look nice.
