I THINK Anne-Marie Gregory has a point (Brothers' anger at RSPCA fat police, Ely Standard, January 18). Allowing your children to become obese is child abuse. It causes them current health problems, grants future health problems a foothold, causes them to be bullied at school. What does a parent have to see in order to treat their child with dignity?
I'd recommend at least a vegetarian diet, as it is meat, especially red meat, that causes so many health problems. This, of course is tied in with animal cruelty, and this leads us back to the story in question. A question perhaps that too few of us are brave enough to ask; what exactly is cruelty? To other animals or to our children? And are we to continue to tolerate it?
